Brunswick Little Theatre Auditions - The Odd Couple (Female Version)
The Odd Couple was revised by Neil Simon in 1985 for a female cast (Sally Struthers and Rita Moreno starred). The play ran on Broadway for 295 performances and was directed by Gene Saks. It was based on the same story line and same lead characters, now called Florence Ungar and Olive Madison. When prim housewife Florence Unger’s 15 year marriage fails, she moves in with the slob-of-the-universe news show producer Olive Madison. The six women in the show have traded in the male version’s poker game for Trivial Pursuit, where the character's personalities are more fully developed than in the male version. Click here for more specific info on each of the characters.
The show will be directed by Thom Clemmons and will run in two venues - 7:30 PM March 6-8, 2009 at Odell Williamson Auditorium on the campus of Brunswick Community College, about 20 minutes south of Wilmington off of Highway 17, and 8 PM March 13-15 at Brown Coat Pub and Theatre at 111 Grace Street in downtown Wilmington. Roles are available for six women ages 30 to 50 and two males who play the Costazuela brothers ages 30 to 40. The show can be cast somewhat older or younger.

Tonight brings 25 years of Broadway Musicals back to Franklin Square Park in Downtown Southport. This Silver Anniversary show is a broad-spectrum mix of songs from selected shows dating back to 1983, when the newly formed theatre group presented its maiden musical, Brigadoon. Over sixty shows later, Brunswick Little Theatre is still alive and kicking with a dedicated and talented bunch of local performers intent on sharing their love of community theatre. Kudos to Director, Thom Clemmons and Musical Director Debbie Skillman for bringing this frolicking "romp in the park" together.

Here are the Contestants for "Searching for Sylvia"

Thanks to all who submitted. This is one great-looking batch of dogs. All pictures were edited and enhanced for best display on this web site. Descriptions given by the owner were condensed to the space allowed. Our winner will be announced in unique fashion during the intermission of this Saturday evening's production of Sylvia at Odell Williamson Auditorium. In alphabetical order they are:

Artie - According to his owner he's part licky and part stupid. His favorite seat in the house is the couch. Everyone who visits finds this out early in visit. It's his seat and he doesn't like giving it up.

Bear - Bear is a dog with a lot of attitude. He loves to wrestle and he doesn't like to lose. People will drive by and honk and wave at him and the UPS guy stops by and plays with him at least once a week.
Bella - Bella can jump 5 feet high. All her owners have to ask her is "Bella do you want to go fishing?" and she starts jumping like a kangaroo. She walks on the beach 3 miles a day and she has lots of friends.
Finnigan - Finnigan is the official greeter on the Bald Head Island Passenger Ferry.

Jenny - Jenny lives with 2 cats and a baby. She has the patience of Job and loves everyone. She likes long walks on the beach and “movie time” with the family.

Maggie - She is a rescue from Katrina; she is a schnoodle (part schnauzer and part poodle); is the sweetest girl in the world but definitely has some "attitude" when required!
Please vote only once......and good luck to ALL!
Deadline March 7, 2008 at 12:00 Noon
Winner revealed on Sat. March 8 during the show. (starts at 7:30)
